More than 8,000 people turned out on Sunday for Good Deeds Day. The volunteers worked on some 140 projects in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. Hundreds of people from the Washington-area gathered at the University of Maryland on Nov. 15 for ROUTES: A Day of Jewish Learning, a program co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and Maryland Hillel.
