BOOK DISCUSSION IN ROCKVILLE
This Sunday we will discuss the book “The Last Jew” by Noah Gordon. This is a historical novel about the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492 during the inquisition. After the deadline for leaving has passed, the story relates the adventures of young Yonah Helkias who remains in Spain, stays true to his Jewish faith, escapes from misadventures, and finds love.
Books and Fellowship is a Jewish (yet all interested persons are welcome, regardless of religious affiliation) singles group 45+ which meets on Sundays. Twice monthly, we have lively discussions about books, movies, and/or topics. Afterwards, we go out to lunch at a nearby restaurant.
