Saxophonist and composer Michele Nirenberg’s compositions of contemporary Brazilian instrumentals show a fascinating, mood enhancing range of Brazilian musical styles. These are attuned to and building bridges between African, European, and Middle Eastern elements. Nirenberg’s home is Rio de Janeiro, and he tours globally including a 2017 tour of Israel with guitarist Uri Bracha. Nirenberg hales from a musical family who left Poland for Brazil during WWII.
