Adat Shalom welcomes the community to join us for a special opportunity to practice yoga during the months of August and September. It is called “Elul Yoga,”named for this particular time of year in the Jewish calendar–a time to build our capacity for spiritual growth in anticipation of the new year season, beginning with Rosh HaShana.
Please join Adat Shalom’s Hazzan/Rabbi Rachel, a certified teacher and long-time hatha yoga practitioner, for a weekly stretch of body, heart, mind and soul during this special season of increased reflection and introspection. Learning and practicing the principles and postures of hatha yoga is yet another portal to explore these themes. These sessions are intended for practitioners of all levels, with modifications available as participants’ needs dictate. Participants of any and all faith traditions are welcome, as well as those who identify as secular. Come for one, some, or all!
Wear comfortable clothing to allow for optimal movement and bring a yoga mat.
Suggested donation per class (to the synagogue social action fund): Adat Shalom members, $5. Visitors and guests, $10
