The Philos Project invites you to attend a screening of the award-winning documentary film Eyeless in Gaza, followed by a discussion on journalistic ethics and the international conversation on the Arab-Israeli conflict with Bassem Eid.
Eyeless in Gaza was an official selection of the Jewish International Film Festival and the Hong Kong International Film Festival. The film documents journalism in the 2014 Gaza conflict, following media teams who experienced intimidation and censorship by Hamas while reporting the war. Following the screening, Bassem Eid, founder of the Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group, will speak on press freedom, and how intimidation and censorship affects the perception of the Arab-Israeli conflict in the international community.
