5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Washington Hebrew Congregation
This year’s Simchat Torah celebration and service at Washington Hebrew Congregation on Wednesday, October 11 will engage our entire community in new and meaningful ways.
The evening begins at 5:30 pm with Early Childhood Center and Religious School students performing brief plays that tell a story from each of the five books of Moses. We will unfurl the entire Torah for the children to see, and then WHC teens will chant the very last and very first Torah portions.
Adults are welcome to join us for this special experience or come at 6:15 pm to enjoy a creative and delicious dinner featuring rolled-up foods, “adult” beverages, a klezmer band, and dancing.
At 7:00 pm, our rabbis will hold “Shot of Torah” table discussions — bring your questions and curiosity.
The evening will conclude with all of us reading together the final passage of Deuteronomy and the first passage of Genesis. Join us for all or part of the evening!
The adult celebration starting at 6:15 pm is $10 per person and includes dinner and adult beverages. Registration is necessary only for this part of the event. Visit whctemple.org/SimchatTorah to RSVP to join us!
