Religious disengagement is increasing worldwide. Significant numbers of Americans and others who once identified as religious now call themselves secular. Who are the religiously disengaged and what ideologies and distractions are competing successfully against religious affiliation? How has organized religion become politicized? How can the pace of Jewish disengagement affect the future of Jewish cohesiveness?
Jacques Assour was born in Egypt and emigrated to Israel in his teens. He served as an officer in the Israel Defense Forces, including Israel Intelligence. In the U.S., Jacques earned degrees in electrical engineering and a PhD in electro-physics. He has served in executive positions in several electronics companies.
