Rabbis and Cantors raising their voices in story and song to celebrate more than 40 years of women in the rabbinate
The D.C. area is home to a large contingent of female rabbis. To honor the groundbreaking work of these women, we have put together a program of stories and songs that celebrates all women — the ones who blazed the trail in the rabbinate and the ones whose potential is just a glimmer in our eyes.
Join us for a celebratory afternoon and reception where seven female rabbis (many of whom contributed to the book) and four female cantors will reflect on their experiences and lift us up in song. It’s a community-wide event for every age — babies to bubbes (and zaydes!).
Tickets: $18/ticket for advance purchases; $25 at the door (payable by cash or check only)
Sponsorship: $180 to join the “Sacred Circle” – a sponsorship that includes name recognition in program materials and a copy of the recently published book that inspired this event – The Sacred Calling: Four Decades of Women in the Rabbinate.
This event is co-sponsored by the Central Conference of American Rabbis, the American Conference of Cantors, Temple Emanuel, Temple Micah, Temple Rodef Shalom, Temple Sinai, Washington Hebrew Congregation, and WHC Sisterhood.
