'Color war' engages campers
7/18/2012 12:03:00 PM
Maccabiah, a two-day "color war" filled with tremendous camp ruach (spirit), is the highlight of the summer for many campers at Capital Camps. For this summer's, "2012 Waynesboro Jewlympics," the four teams represented Jewish themes of Limud (study), Tzedakah (charity), Dor L'Dor (generation to generation) and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world). Each team participated in traditional sports activities, creative arts performances, tug-of-war and bonus events, such as a giant leapfrog and the "Mac-a-Peel" camp-wide relay, which culminated in a dramatic rope-burning competition.
